I agree. This looks like control by Bottom. He is trying to meet her desire but lacks the necessary ruthlessness of a true Master. I suspect that if he lived up to her inner desire she would show both fear and deep satisfaction.
Maybe it's just me, but I enjoy it more when they're NOT so willing; you know, so you can hear and see the fear in their eyes, and hear the agony in their screams.
